Welcome to all muslims, sunni, shia, and others.

There is a lot of fighting going on between various groups of Muslims. All sects among muslims claim they are on the right path and that others are astray. These muslim groups are trying to convert the others to their own version of Islam. Its an interesting debate.

We have collected for our readers some bits of what is going on in mosques, conference halls, television, newspapers and internet websites. Discussions are often very lively and gripping to watch if you know some background of the contents.

We advise our readers to study a bit of history of early muslims.
Origins of these debates lies in in first five decades of Islam.

Sunnis and Shias

Assalamualikum,

Sunnis and Shias are both Muslims and they are brothers in Islam.

Both groups of brothers accept God is One and He has no equals.
Both believe in Prophethood of Muhammad.
Both accept Quran as the Pure Divine Word.
Both take Kabah as House of God.
Both pray towards it every day; and both fast during Ramadan and go on Haj.

However, there are some minor differences.
Media often use small matters to divide Sunnis and Shias.
Media divides Muslims by shouting about minor issues.
There should be no hatred between between Sunnis and Shias.
But media does try to create hatred between brothers.

Enemies of Islam know that Sunnis and Shias both agree on important foundations of Islam.
Therefore, they try to create discord over smaller trivial issues such as the disciples or the wives of the Prophet. They use weak Hadith and they misinterpret verses of Quran.
